Cycle ergometry (CEM, (stress test, treadmill test)) is a functional diagnostic method for detecting latent coronary insufficiency on special equipment – a bicycle ergometer.
A test with dosed physical load (cycling ergometry) is performed for:

How to prepare for cycle ergometry?
What is needed for a treadmill test?
- Sneakers;
- Comfortable loose clothing (sportswear, shorts, etc.);
- Towel;
- Drinking water.
Before taking the test:
- A preliminary examination by a doctor is mandatory before performing the study to resolve the issue of the need to cancel or adjust certain groups of medications (especially beta-blockers).
- The following results are required: resting ECG; Echocardiogram (heart ultrasound).
On the eve:
- If you have not been previously examined, these tests can be performed at our clinic. Please notify the administrator.
- On the eve (12 hours before the stress test), you should not perform significant physical activity;
- 2-3 hours before the test, you must eat and refrain from smoking.
Importantly:
If you are scheduled to have blood tests on the day of the test (on an empty stomach), bring a light snack with you so that you have the opportunity to refuel before the stress test.
