Participation in a cardiac rehabilitation program in Kyiv allows you to take care of your health in the rhythm of everyday life, rather than putting it on pause.
Patients are given the opportunity to learn how to independently control their health with the help of psychological support, guidelines on proper nutrition, physical activity, and recommendations from cardiologists.
The program plan is based on modern European protocols, which allows it to be adjusted to each patient individually.
Питання-Відповідь
First, the cardiologist conducts a detailed examination: analyzes medical documents, communicates with the patient, performs an ECG, cardiac ultrasound, and bicycle ergometry (BEM) to determine physical readiness for rehabilitation and initial objective indicators of physical activity. After that, the patient undergoes initial consultations with a psychologist and a nutritionist to assess the psychological state and draw up an individual nutrition plan. Important: tests are not included in the cost of rehabilitation and are paid separately.
At this stage, a team of specialists – a cardiologist, a rehabilitation specialist, a psychologist and a nutritionist – creates an individual plan for each patient based on the initial data. The medication schedule, nutrition, physical activity and psychological support are taken into account. To ensure a comprehensive approach, a family doctor is involved if necessary.
Before starting physical rehabilitation, doctors adjust the necessary health indicators: blood pressure, sugar level, etc. A psychologist and a nutritionist continue to work with the patient to prepare for active loads. If additional correction is not needed, the patient immediately moves on to the next stage.
The patient begins physical rehabilitation under the supervision of a specialist, and also works with a psychologist for emotional support and motivation. Both areas are aimed at strengthening health and adapting to a new rhythm of life.
An interim review is conducted after a month. Cycle ergometry helps assess progress, and doctors adjust the load, diet, and prescription as needed. After the interim review, the patient continues the rehabilitation program, taking into account the adjustments made.
Finally, the cardiologist performs a control ultrasound of the heart and provides the patient with recommendations for maintaining health in the future.
According to the definition of the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR), cardiac rehabilitation is a coordinated set of measures necessary both to have a beneficial effect on the causes of cardiovascular disease and to create the best physical, mental and social opportunities that allow the patient to maintain or restore optimal functioning in society and improve their lifestyle in accordance with the advice of health professionals, slow down the progression or promote the reversal of the disease.
Cardiac rehabilitation in the city of Kyiv does not require interruption from your normal lifestyle. It is aimed at restoring physical activity, improving heart and vascular functions, and controlling risk factors: high blood pressure, excess weight, elevated glucose, or cholesterol levels.
Duration of Cardiac Rehabilitation
The basic package of the Docos Medical cardiac rehabilitation program is designed for 2 months. Depending on objective medical needs or the patient’s preference, it can be extended for another month or more.
Advantages of Using a Fitness Watch During the Cardiac Rehabilitation Course
In our program, we use a Garmin fitness watch:
In what format is communication maintained?
Our goal is to ensure convenience and optimal conditions for you during your treatment. A personal manager is assigned to communicate with the patient: reminding about physical activities outside the clinic, assisting with nutrition, reminding about homework, and connecting with doctors if necessary. Using a Garmin fitness watch during the rehabilitation process allows us to monitor your vital signs with greater accuracy and efficiency.
Are there any contraindications to cardiac rehabilitation?
When is cardiac rehabilitation discontinued?

If necessary, the clinic can provide fast and effective emergency medical care to patients. There is a defibrillator available and all employees (not only doctors, but also administrative staff) of the clinic undergo annual training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills.
Our rehabilitation program for cardiac patients includes not only an individual approach in cardiology and rehabilitation, but also nutritional correction from a nutritionist/endocrinologist and weekly meetings with a psychologist.
The program is based on modern guidelines and complies with the Italian protocol. During cardiorehabilitation, the use of a Garmin fitness watch (see below), bioimpedance scales (measure the metabolic rate and then determine the corresponding biological age), a bicycle ergometer, a treadmill, an exercise bike, and other rehabilitation and sports equipment is provided.
If necessary, it is possible to involve additional examinations or related specialists who work in the clinic under special conditions.
